Convolvulus cnoreum

Short Description

Silverbush. A popular groundcover shrub with distinctive silver foliage and large white trumpet like flowers in spring. Prefers full sun well drained soil. 40cm high x 1m wide. Hardy. Ideal for bark gardens.

Cultivation Advice

Plants with silver, grey or blue foliage are naturally adapted for dry, hot, and sunny conditions, and Convolvulus cnoreum fits this group. Avoid shade and wet areas. Give a good water after planting, and then no more irrigation apart from natural rainfall.

Plant singularly or in groups, allowing at least 1m diameter per plant. Prune only if needed for shape, else plant and forget. Convovulus cnoreum is ideal for traffic islands, commercial properties, dry banks, top of retaining walls, barks or pebble gardens.
